Adopterluv FAQ for Shelterluv Users

Below you will find answers to many of the questions you may have regarding your adopter's Adopterluv account. You can use the table of contents on the righthand side of the article to quickly jump to a specific question.

 

Q.

What is Adopterluv?

A.

 

Adopterluv is a free service specifically built for your adopters. Adopterluv will help your adopters manage their new pet's medical information. Their Adopterluv account will automatically pre-fill with their new pet's vaccine information, pulled directly from that animal's Shelterluv record, as well as any documents you selected to be emailed during the checkout process. Adopterluv will remind the adopter about upcoming vaccines, encourage them to stay up-to-date with vet visits, and allow them to track new vaccines.

What will adopters receive from Adopterluv?

A.

 

Shortly after the adoption is processed in Shelterluv, the adopter will receive a separate email from Adopterluv inviting them to view their new pet's animal records. From there, the adopter will be taken to a new account on the Adopterluv website, where they'll find their new pet's vaccine information and any documents that you selected to be emailed during the checkout process. This is completely optional for the adopter.

Is Adopterluv in Shelterluv?

The adopter can view their new pet's animal records through a website called Adopterluv. Adopterluv is another part of Shelterluv. We gave it a different name so that the two wouldn't get confused.

 

Q.

Does Adopterluv change the adoption process at all?

A.

 

The adoption process within Shelterluv will remain exactly the same. The only thing that will be new is that the adopter will be receiving a new email after the adoption is processed, inviting them to view their animal's vaccine information and digital documents on Adopterluv.

 

Q.

Does Adopterluv replace the documents I can email or print to adopters while processing an adoption?

You can still email or print those documents for the adopter as you normally would. They will be available for the adopter to download directly, and they will also be automatically imported into the Adopterluv account.

 

Q.

What are the donation options for Adopterluv users?

A.

 

Adopterluv users will see a donation option in their Adopterluv account. They can give a one-time donation or sign up for a recurring monthly donation in the amount of their choosing and will be charged that amount each month. These monthly donations are set up as subscriptions in your shelter’s Stax account so the donations (minus the Stax fee) go straight into your Stax account.

Donors who sign up for recurring donations during an Adoption Outcome via Shelterpay's Donation Boost Widget can also manage their subscriptions directly from Adopterluv and will receive an emailed receipt for each monthly donation. Each email will also include a link to help them find their Adopterluv account if needed.

 

Q.

Can I resend an Adopterluv invite if an adopter did not receive this?

A.

 

Unfortunately, we don't have a way for you to resend an Adopterluv invite within the UI however if you do hear reports from your adopters that have not received their invitation or cannot find it in their spam folders, you can simply share our email address (help@shelterluv.com) with them to contact us so we can troubleshoot from our end.

The initial invite is included along with your configured message to download their adoption documents. If your adopters do not sign in to their Adopterluv account at this time, our system will attempt to resend several reminders so they do not miss out on this feature.
