How do I use attributes on people records?

You can use attributes on people records for descriptors like "Donor," "Staff," "Volunteer," and many other things. Your people attributes can be configured from Configuration (General Shelter > Processing > Attribute Manager.)

There are a handful of system-generated attributes for your use that you cannot edit or delete. These include:

  • "Foster (active)" - automatically added to people records when they have a foster animal in their care
  • "Willing Foster"
  • "Warning! -- Safety Note"
  • "Do Not Adopt"

You can add attributes to a person's record using the "Attributes" tab on the record.

You can filter the main People tab on the home screen using people attributes.

You can also use attributes as a rule and/or customized column on the person entity custom report.

If you'd like to add your own custom attributes like 'shy dog foster' or 'bottle baby kittens,' see Where can I add statuses and attributes?
