The size group field on dog records is pushed through to Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, and RescueGroups for organizations who prefer to display the dog's size when grown. If that field is blank, the current weight will be used and translated as described below:

For Dogs

1. Small = equal to or less than 25 lbs
2. Medium = 25 to 60 lbs
3. Large = 60 to 100 lbs
4. Extra Large = greater than 100 lbs
5. If there is no weight provided, then by default it will be considered Small

For Cats

1. Small = equal to or less than 4.99 lbs
2. Medium = 5 lbs to 9.98 lbs
3. Large = 9.99 lbs to 14.98 lbs
4. Extra Large = greater than 14.99 lbs
5. If there is no weight provided, then by default it will be considered Small
