The size group field on dog records is pushed through to Petfinder for organizations that prefer to display the dog's size when grown. If that field is blank, the current weight will be used and translated as described below:

For Dogs

1. Small = equal to or less than 25 lbs
2. Medium = 25 to 60 lbs
3. Large = 60 to 100 lbs
4. Extra Large = greater than 100 lbs
5. If there is no weight provided, then by default, it will be considered Small

For Cats

1. Small = equal to or less than 4.99 lbs
2. Medium = 5 lbs to 9.98 lbs
3. Large = 9.99 lbs to 14.98 lbs
4. Extra Large = greater than 14.99 lbs
5. If there is no weight provided, then by default, it will be considered Small
