All of Shelterluv's donation features, best for pet offers, and your mobile checkouts for adoptions, services, owner surrenders, etc., are powered by Shelterpay, our fully integrated credit card processing platform.

Mobile Checkout
As you configure your intake and outcome forms, and practice with different intakes and outcomes, you will notice that you have the option to send a Shelterpay checkout link directly to your customer. This is Shelterluv's mobile checkout feature.
This checkout could be for an adoption or owner surrender fee your organization may charge, or a charge for services rendered (such as a spay/neuter surgery). You also have the option to initiate a charge directly from a person record for transactions associated with retail items, such as a rabies vaccine for example. Mobile checkout can even be used if the adoption or service is $0, so that your organization can still receive the benefits!
Utilizing Shelterluv's mobile checkout feature saves our organizations time, money, and reconciling headaches. Here are just a few of the benefits you'll see right away when you start using Shelterpay:
- Process debit/credit cards without the need for a separate card reader, related hardware/software, or the additional fees associated with them. With Shelterpay, you can process payments on the customer's phone (via text, email, QR code, etc.), or your own device (computer, tablet, or phone). Why should I use Shelterpay instead of a separate credit card processor?
Once you are connected to Shelterpay, you will have access to detailed transaction reporting inside your Shelterluv account that will include all of the information that you need about your transactions and bank deposits. You will not need to reconcile between accounts or run and combine multiple reports. You can learn more about these accounting reports in this Help Center article.
Questions and issues are handled directly by the Shelterluv customer solutions team for better service and response time.
Once you complete the enrollment process, the connection to Shelterpay will be seamless and automatic. The change will happen in the background, and our support team will reach out to let you know that your Shelterpay account is ready to use.
How long will the enrollment process take?
With all of your information on hand, the application takes 5-10 minutes. This checklist includes all the information that you will need to complete the enrollment form. Applications are typically approved within 24-48 business hours, and then you can begin processing payments immediately.
