March 2025: Updates to microchips, vaccine products, recurring donations, and more!
Microchip Number Validation
Microchip numbers are now automatically validated when entered on intake forms, custom forms, or directly on the animal record. This helps catch any data entry errors that could make it harder for lost pets to be reunited with their families. The system checks that the chip numbers are 9, 10, or 15 characters long. If the number isn’t valid, you’ll see an error message, and it won’t save.
Vaccine Product Updates
Elanco’s updated TruCan and TruFel vaccine products have been added to the available vaccine list. If you’re using quick fill templates with the former Duramune and Fel-o-Vax products, those will need to be updated to reflect the rebranded versions.
Vaccine products reflecting the merger of Merial and Boehringer Ingelheim have also been added, with Boehringer Ingelheim now listed as the manufacturer. Any quick fill templates using the former Merial products will need to be updated. To differentiate the older Merial products, we’ve added “Merial” to their names in the vaccine list.

Reintaking Field/Wildlife Release Records
Records with a Field/Wildlife Release outcome can now be easily reintaken using the previous caretaker's person record. The animal’s record will show up under the Animals tab on the person’s record, and the three-dot menu will give you the option to either reintake the animal or change custody.
System Generated Document Updates
Rabies certificates now correctly show the animal’s age at the time of vaccination instead of the current age.
The Complete Medical History now includes Age Y/M/D (Years/Months/Days) alongside the animal’s date of birth.
Shelterpay Monthly Giving
We’ve made it easier for donors to manage their recurring donations. A link to modify or cancel their Shelterpay Monthly Giving donation is now automatically included in:
- The initial receipt when the donation is first set up.
- Monthly receipts for each recurring transaction.
- Donation receipts sent directly from the donor’s person record.

The Location Survey quick report has been updated to include empty locations to provide a comprehensive overview of physical locations and make population management easier.

Many of you asked for the ability to search the user management page to quickly find the user account you're looking for. You can now search by First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Username using the search box at the top of the page.
