Donations are often the main source of funding for animal shelters and rescues. Adopterluv gives your adopters the ability to give and manage their existing donations. Below you will find some frequently asked questions regarding how your adopters can do this.

To get started, your adopters can log into their Adopterluv account here.

Make a One-Time or Monthly Donation

Once they have logged into their Adopterluv account, they can follow the steps below to make a donation:

1. Click the Donations button in the menu bar, and then choose your organization to donate to.
2. In the new window, they will have the option to make a one-time or monthly donation.
3. Once they have the correct donation type selected, they can fill in their information and click the blue Donate button at the bottom. They will also have the option to cover your organization's processing fees to ensure that 100% of your donation goes to you.

Cancel a Monthly Donation

Once the adopter has logged into their Adopterluv account, follow the steps below to cancel a recurring donation:

1. Click the Donations button in the menu bar, and then click the Edit button next to the monthly donation that needs to be canceled.
2. Click the Cancel Subscription button.

Update Payment Method for Monthly Donation

Since the recurring donation is linked directly with the payment they used initially, they will need to cancel the existing monthly donation as shown above and then set up a new monthly recurring donation with their preferred method of payment.

Donation Receipts

Your adopters will receive an emailed receipt with each monthly donation (first screenshot). When they submit their first monthly donation, they will receive a second email, along with the receipt, that allows them to manage or cancel their subscription if their Adopterluv account is not set up.

They will also have access to a list of each donation made and its date from the "Invoices" button in the menu bar of their Adopterluv account.
