How to Add a Transfer Intake

Shelterluv makes it easy to process a transfer intake from your partners. It is important to keep in mind that transfer intakes can only be completed with a partner and cannot be done with a person record.

To get started, click the Partners tab on your main dashboard.

Shelterluv Partners vs. Non-Shelterluv Partners


While both processes are very straightforward, processing a transfer intake from a Shelterluv Partner vs. a non-Shelterluv partner differs slightly, so make sure you review both options below.

You'll know if your partner also uses Shelterluv by the gold system-generated-outline.svg SL icon in front of their name.

Process the Intake


Click each tab below to see how to process a transfer intake from a Shelterluv customer and a non-Shelterluv customer.

  • If the partner associated with the transfer intake is a Shelterluv customer, you'll want to ensure the partner processes a transfer outcome in their Shelterluv account to your Shelterluv account first. Once they do, you will see a red notification letting you know you have a pending intake from that partner.

    Once you have a pending transfer, follow these steps to process the intake:

    1. From the Partners tab on your main dashboard, click the partner's name with the pending transfer intake.
    2. Check the box on the left side of each animal's name that is a pending transfer, then click the green transport-outline.svg Accept Transfer In button.
    3. Complete your configured transfer intake form. If you are accepting multiple transfers at the same time, you will have the option to apply what you enter to all intakes or complete a form separately for each animal.

  • If the partner associated with the transfer intake is not a Shelterluv customer, you have two options to process a new transfer intake

    Option 1:

    1. From the Partners tab on your main dashboard, click the more-overflow.svg three dots on the right side of the Partner's name, and choose New Transfer In from the dropdown menu.
    2. Fill out the transfer intake form and click the green Create Record button.

    Option 2:

    1. From the Partners tab on your main dashboard, click the partner's name, followed by the green outline-add-circle.svg New Transfer In button.
    2. Fill out the transfer intake form and click the green Create Record button.

Transfer Back In a Transferred Out Animal


If you need to transfer an animal back in that was previously transferred or serviced out to a Shelterluv customer, follow the exact same process outlined above for completing a transfer intake from a Shelterluv customer.

If you need to transfer an animal back in that was previously transferred or serviced out to a Non-Shelterluv customer, follow these steps:

  1. From the Partners tab on your main dashboard, click the partner's name.
  2. Click the Transfers Out subtab or the Service > Service Out subtab.
  3. Check the box next to the animal that needs to be transferred back in and click the green intake-outline.svg Re-Intake button.
  4. Click the transport-outline.svg Transfer Back in button, and complete the transfer intake form.
