Different Discount Types
In the Discount Reasons configuration section, you will see two different discount types - Item-level and transaction-level.
Item-Level
Item-level discount reasons can be applied to individual items ahead of time in configuration.
For example, if you are discounting all puppy adoption fees for a weekend adoption event, you can add a discount reason to your puppy adoption price group, which will then automatically apply that discount to all animals with the puppy adoption price group.
Transaction-Level
Transaction-level discount reasons can be applied when a transaction occurs to all items discounted during the transaction.
For example, if you provide a senior discount, you can add all the needed items to the shopping cart first, then apply the discount to the entire transaction rather than one specific item.
