Setting Up Your Non-Adoption Items for Accurate Reporting
Shelterluv understands the need for very detailed accounting reports. This is why we give you the ability to add as many details as possible to each non-adoption item that you create to help with your reporting.
While these fields are optional, we highly recommend that you add details like the department, fund, item number, cost, etc., to each item when applicable. This gives you the ability to run detailed, granular reports later down the line.
Create a New Non-Adoption Item
Follow these steps to add a new non-adoption item:
- From the Non-Adoption Item configuration section, click the green Add Item button.
- Fill out the Add Item form and click the Green Save button
If you choose the Deposit item type, that item will be treated as a deposit, which has different functionality from the rest of your non-adoption items. You can find more details by clicking here.
Inventory Tracking
When you configure or edit a non-adoption item, you can toggle on inventory tracking and add your total inventory for that item (i.e., 300 microchips or 25 dog leashes).
If you turn this on for a specific item, the inventory total will be reduced by one each time the item is added to a checkout and paid for by your customer.
You can see the total remaining inventory for a specific item at any time in the Non-Adoption Item configuration section. Please keep in mind that Shelterluv does not send notifications when an item's inventory is getting low.
