How to Complete Medical Tasks

Tasks will show your organization your scheduled medical and behavior items (treatments, vaccines, behavior checks, etc.). Tasks is also your central hub for your applications and status review for animals who were given a status review date.

This article will focus on the medical side of Tasks. Please use the links below to learn about what else Tasks has to offer:

What user permissions do I need to complete medical items in Tasks?

  • Add medical data to animal records
  • Schedule & complete treatments & procedures

You can complete treatments, vaccines, surgeries, vet or tech exams, and diagnostic tests on the Medical tab of Tasks.

Completing a scheduled medical item is very similar between each tab, but there are a few key differences. Click the different tabs below for details on each:

  • Completing scheduled treatments in Tasks

    When you first open Tasks, you will land on the Medical > Treatments tab. At the top, you will see your treatment filters, including:

    • Date Range - Enter a date range to see upcoming treatments.
    • Show Overdue toggle - Use this toggle to see treatments that were missed.
    • Time of day - Quickly filter your treatments for a specific time of day to help prioritize which animals need their treatment first.
    • filter.svg Filters - This button will give you animal-related filter options along with treatment type and frequency.
    • outline-paw.svg Animal View, treatment-outline.svg Treatment View, andlocation-outline.svg Location view - Use these buttons to view your scheduled treatments grouped by animal, treatment type, or location.

    Once you see the treatments you need to complete, follow these steps:

    • Click the checkbox on the left of the animal's name.
    • Click the green Complete button.
    • Fill out the Complete Treatments form and click the green Save button.

    If an animal has multiple treatments to complete, you can click the animal to expand and view all of its treatments and complete as needed.
  • Completing scheduled vaccines in Tasks

    When you first open Tasks, click the Vaccines tab to view your scheduled vaccines. At the top, you will see your vaccine filters, including:

      • Date Range - Enter a date range to see upcoming vaccines.
      • Show Overdue toggle - Use this toggle to see vaccines that were missed.

    Once you see the vaccines you need to complete, follow these steps:

      • Click the checkbox on the left of the animal's name.
      • Click the green Complete button.
      • Fill out the Complete Vaccine form and click the green Save button.

  • Completing scheduled procedures/surgeries in Tasks

    When you first open Tasks, click the Procedures/Surgeries tab to view your scheduled procedures/surgeries. At the top, you will see your procedures/surgeries filters, including:

      • Date Range - Enter a date range to see upcoming procedures/surgeries.
      • Show Overdue toggle - Use this toggle to see procedures/surgeries that were missed.
      • filter.svg Filters - This button will give you animal-related filter options such as species and location.

    Once you see the procedure/surgery you need to complete, follow these steps:

      • Click the checkbox on the left of the animal's name.
      • Click the green Complete button.
      • Fill out the Complete Procedure/Surgery form and click the green Complete Procedure/Surgery button.

    You can only complete one procedure/surgery at a time.
  • Completing scheduled vet and tech exams in Tasks

    When you open Tasks, click either the Vet Exam or Tech Exam tab to view your scheduled vet or tech exams. While the two exam types are separated on different tabs, both tabs follow the exact same process to complete or reschedule.

    At the top, you will see your vet or tech exam filters, including:

      • Date Range - Enter a date range to see upcoming vet or tech exams.
      • Show Overdue toggle - Use this toggle to see vet or tech exams that were missed.
      • filter.svg Filters - This button will give you animal-related filter options such as species and location.

    Once you see the exams you need to complete, follow these steps:

      • Click the checkbox on the left of the animal's name.
      • Click the green Complete button and choose either the Physical Exam option or a custom medical form from the dropdown menu.
      • Fill out the form and click the green Complete Exam button.

  • Completing scheduled diagnostic tests in Tasks

    When you open Tasks, click the Diagnostic Tests tab to view your scheduled diagnostic tests. At the top, you will see your diagnostic test filters, including:

      • Date Range - Enter a date range to see upcoming diagnostic tests.
      • Show Overdue toggle - Use this toggle to see diagnostic tests that were missed.
      • filter.svg Filters - This button will give you animal-related filter options such as species and location.

    Once you see the diagnostic tests you need to complete, follow these steps:

      • Click the checkbox on the left of the animal's name.
      • Click the green Complete button.
      • Fill out the Complete Test form and click the green Complete Test button.

    Only tests of the same type may be completed together.
