Shelterluv gives you access to set up your fosters' profiles directly from their person record. In the foster profile, you can add the foster's capacity by species and any blackout dates they may have. A foster's capacity and blackout dates directly correspond with Shelterluv's Foster Finder.
Navigate to a person record in your Shelterluv account to get started.
What user permissions do I need to view and edit a foster profile?
- View, edit & create people records
Activating a Foster Profile
To turn on a person record's foster profile, find the appropriate person record, click the Foster Profile tab, and then toggle the Willing Foster person attribute. Once you toggle the attribute on, you will be asked if you would like to send an email invitation to the foster so they can access their foster portal.
You can learn more about the foster portal here.
Setting Up a Foster's Capacity
Once the Willing Foster attribute is toggled on, you can add or edit the foster's capacity by clicking the Edit Foster Capacity button. Once you click that button, you can define how many animals of each species the foster can care for simultaneously.
The foster's capacity directly corresponds with Shelterluv's Foster Finder.
Adding Blackout Dates
Once the Willing Foster attribute is toggled on, you can add blackout dates for the foster by clicking the Add Blackout Dates button.
You can edit a blackout date range by clicking directly on it or delete it by clicking the trashcan icon on the right of the date range.
Use blackout dates to mark a foster temporarily unavailable (away on vacation, for example) so that they will not appear in your searches when using Shelterluv's Foster Finder.
You can add as many blackout dates as you need.
