How to Schedule and Complete a Procedure/Surgery

Shelterluv's procedures and surgeries feature will give you the tools to schedule and record anything from a routine microchip implant or spay/neuters to your more serious medical operations.

You can schedule and complete a procedure/surgery directly from an animal record. You also have the option to complete a scheduled procedure/surgery from the Task Manager, which you can learn more about here - How to Complete Medical Items with Tasks

Note
Configuration is only accessible through a desktop or laptop. You cannot access the Configuration section on a mobile device.

How to Schedule a Procedure/Surgery


Follow these steps to schedule a procedure/surgery:

  1. From the animal record, click the Medical > Procedures/Surgeries tab.
  2. Click the Schedule Procedure/Surgery button.
  3. Fill out the form and click the green Schedule Procedure/Surgery button.

Note
The Received Spay/Neuter? field will update the altered status of the animal and generate a spay/neuter certificate when you complete the surgery.

After you schedule or complete a procedure/surgery, you will see it highlighted in blue (scheduled) or grey (completed) under the Medical > Procedures/Surgeries tab. Click the arrow Arrow_Icon.svg on the right-hand side to view the procedure/surgery's details.

How to Complete a Procedure/Surgery


You can complete a new or scheduled procedure/surgery on an animal record.

  • Follow these steps to complete a scheduled procedure/surgery:

      • Click the three dots Three_Dot_Icon.svg on the right-hand side of the procedure/surgery and choose outline-check-circle.svg Complete from the dropdown menu.

      • Fill out the form and click the green Complete Procedure/Surgery button.

  • Follow these steps to complete a new procedure/surgery:

      • Click the Medical > Procedures/Surgeries tab, followed by the Complete Procedure/Surgery button.

      • Fill out the form and click the green Complete Procedure/Surgery button.

How to Edit or Delete a Procedure/Surgery


  • Follow these steps to edit a procedure/surgery:

      • Click the three dots Three_Dot_Icon.svg on the right-hand side of the procedure/surgery and choose outline-edit.svg Edit from the dropdown menu.

      • Make your adjustments and click the green Update Procedure/Surgery button to save your changes

  • Follow these steps to delete a procedure/surgery:

      • Click the three dots Three_Dot_Icon.svg on the right-hand side of the procedure/surgery and choose outline-trash-delete.svg Delete from the dropdown menu.

      • Read the warning and click the red Delete button.

    You can view deleted procedures/surgeries from the Show Deleted Procedures/Surgeries button.

    Deleted procedures/surgeries cannot be recovered.

Spay/Neuter Certificate


If you complete a spay/neuter surgery and choose Yes to the Received Spay/Neuter? field, a system-generated spay/neuter certificate will be available under the animal's Files tab.
