Information That Is Sent to Your Aggregators

You can configure your Shelterluv account to upload your adoptable animals to Petfinder, Chewy, and Adopt-a-Pet automatically. You can read How to Set Up Your Aggregator Integrations for details.

Below is a list of information sent to Petfinder, Chewy, and Adopt-a-Pet to help you prepare your animal records accordingly, along with translations for breeds, attributes, and size groups when sent to your aggregators.

Auto-Upload Prerequisites

For an animal record to be included in the automatic upload to your aggregator account, the following conditions must be met:

  • The animal record must be in a status that is toggled to Display Online. Please take a look at How to Configure Your Statuses for details.
  • The animal record must have a sex value of either Male or Female (not Unknown) on its profile.
  • Regarding photos or videos, Publish must be toggled on to be included with the animal record.

Auto-Upload Frequency

Because Adopt-a-Pet's integration is built with Shelterluv's API, changes you make to your animal records should be updated in your Adopt-a-Pet account every 30 minutes.

Petfinder still uses FTP to upload data from Shelterluv to your Petfinder account. Because of this, changes you make to your animal records will update once daily.

Chewy's API integration will update once daily.

Auto-uploaded Information

It is important to note that each integration is independently built, and the same information is not always passed over to each aggregator.

Translations

  • The table below defines the Shelterluv attribute names that will trigger these special translations to your aggregator upload.

    Ensure that:

    • Each attribute is toggled to Publish in your attribute configurations.
    • There are no conflicting attributes (e.g. Good with Dogs and Not Good with Dogs) on an animal record. If there are, they will be translated as blank/unknown.
